TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM
Our Transitional Housing Program (THP) focuses on giving families a safe space and time to recover from domestic violence. Women and families live independantly in one of seventeen fully furnished apartments for up to eighteen months where they receive agency core services.
In 2003, THP provided over 13,000 bednights to 75 women and children.
THP services include:
- Furnished apartment for six to eighteen months
- Individual advocacy
- Weekly support groups focusing on domestic violence, chemical dependency, life-skills
- Children's groups
- Parenting classes
- Assistance securing permanent, affordable housing
- Legal advocacy
- Six month follow-up services
In need of services? To apply for THP you'll need a referral from another agency. Ask your shelter advocate about applications.
