Wish List

Image"Our quilters group makes lap throws and baby blankets for those in transitional housing. It gives us great joy to know that our work brings such comfort to abused women and children. In nine years, we've given more than 3,000 quilts. There's a lot of love in every stitch."

In some cases, in-kind donations allow us to stretch our dollars. In other cases, these gifts allow us to provide welcome "extras".

Non-perishable Food and Snacks

We always need:

Gift certificates: Some stores (Fred Meyer, Target, and Safeway) have a little bit of everything. Having to make a new life is difficult. Picking out what you need is a small start.

Food: We provide over 20,000 meals each year in our Emergency Shelter. We buy dairy products, fresh produce, and meat. We provide kosher and halal food as needed. We participate in food programs. But your donations of unopened, unexpired non-perishables keep the pantry stocked.

We provide child care for children whose mothers are in support groups. Your donations of healthy snacks (small juices, raisins, granola bars) keep children fed and comfortable.

Diapers, pull-ups: Half of the people we serve are children. Many are infants and toddlers. And even potty-trained children can regress under stress. So your donations of diapers and (large-size) pull-ups keep bottoms dry.

Underwear: We never have enough. Are you buying some for yourself? For your child? Could you add a little extra for someone in our emergency shelter? Your gift of new underwear makes a difference.

More: If you had to leave your home with very little, what would you need to replace? If you were running an extra-large household, what would you need? That's what we need, too. Day planners, alarm clocks, bus tickets...

We do not need:

  • Used Clothing
  • Furniture
  • Decorative household items
  • Used carseats
  • Stuffed animals
  • Pans with TEFLON
  • Travel sized toiletries
